Discover Siwa, a beautiful oasis near Libya

Siwa is a city in the region of the Western Desert of Egypt. 
The historic town of Siwa oasis sits on a secluded area located in the Western Desert of Egypt, about 550 km west of the capital Cairo, 305 km south-west of Marsa Matrouh and about 50 km the border with Libya.Extended about 80 km long and 20 km wide, the oasis is one of the most isolated settlements in the country. Siwa nevertheless has a particular attraction for many travelers because of its isolation and uniqueness, its natural beauty and its historical associations. The city has a population of approximately 25,000 inhabitants.
The inhabitants of the oasis of Siwa Berbers are ethnically and their mother tongue is a language called Siwi Berber, although almost all Siwis speak Arabic as a second language and many people also speak English. 

Note: This is not an oasis palm stereotyped with a water hole for the animals, the oasis of Siwa is a vast area of ​​date palms and olive trees extending over the horizon, with villages and central lake.

What to see in Siwa 
- Siwa Oasis. 300,000 palm trees, 70,000 olive trees, 300 freshwater springs.
- Shali.
- The Temple of the Oracle (Located on the hill of Aghurmi, about 4 miles east of Siwa town). Built in the 6th century BC, dedicated to Zmun (Zeus). In vain kings sent armies to destroy the temple because of the power of the oracle.Visited by Alexander the Great, who asked him if he was the son of Zeus.
-The Temple of Amon / Temple of Umm Ubaydah (200m far from the Temple of the Oracle). This structure is almost completely destroyed, because of its blasting in 1896 by an Ottoman governor eager to acquire construction equipment.
- Bath of Cleopatra. A natural hot spring feeds this rock basin, a popular swimming hole for locals and visitors.
Fatnas spring, (6 miles west of Siwa town. Exceed the Council building and turn left at the first fork. Chali Continue around and follow the signs.). Idyllic setting amidst palm trees and greenery.
Gebel el-Mawta / Mountain of the Dead (located about 1 km north of the center of Siwa). 
Tomb of Siamon - beautifully colored reliefs 
Tomb of Mesu-Isis - contains a mummified skull 
Tomb of Niperpathot - inscriptions and drawings 
Tomb of the crocodile - the deterioration of the murals show a yellow crocodile
Gebel Darkur (4 km from the town of Siwa).
